In the two-year course of pedagogical studies, you will acquire the ability to successfully teach students at all levels. You will obtain an official certificate with which you can build a viable career as an instrumental teacher. The “Meierott Violin Method” provides the violin teacher with unique conditions when practicing his or her profession. The violin teachers trained at the IVA are ideally prepared and sought after for a career as an independent music teacher as well as for a career at a music institute!
The basis for the course of pedagogical studies is sufficient knowledge of violin technique and music theory, which is expanded upon during the course of studies.
Course content:
You apply with a short video in which you briefly introduce yourself and talk about your career as a violinist so far and your professional goals.
Present 2 pieces from different eras with different characters
(length of the video 15 minutes max.)
An internal intermediate exam takes place one year before the final exam.
The official final exam consists of a video in which you teach two students of different ages and abilities, including a total of 60 minutes of teaching. You will then be interviewed about your teaching.
After passing the final exam, you will receive a certificate with which you can successfully start your professional life.
The fees for one year of studies are 2949 euros (payable in advance of the respective year at the latest four weeks before the start of the course / year of studies). It is possible to start a course at any time during the calendar year.
Each year of study consists of a total of 38 hours of individual lessons, which are usually spread over the entire year of study (38 weeks).
