What is the International Violin Academy Florian Meierott (IVA)?


The International Violin Academy Florian Meierott (IVA), founded by Florian Meierott, offers talented students from all over the world interested in a musical career the opportunity to gain a certified basis in a modern, innovative, and practical way (without the ballast of superfluous minor subjects, having to be in a certain location, etc.) and to obtain a degree in a time-saving manner so that they can quickly and professionally pursue their dream profession.

The range of studies currently comprises 4 courses, which can be taken consecutively or in parallel if desired.

Classes take place online or in the classrooms at Villa Paganini in Kitzingen (Germany), whichever the student prefers. A mixture of online lessons and lessons in person at Villa Paganini is also possible.

The aim is to enable the student to develop his or her potential and at the same time purposefully find his or her place in the professional musical world.

The languages of instruction are English, German and French.

There are a total of four courses of studies available at the IVA, which can be taken consecutively or in parallel if desired:

  • Pedagogical studies (2 years)
  • Chamber music studies (2 years)

Florian Meierott - Director of the International Violin Academy Florian Meierott (IVA)


With decades of teaching experience and a uniquely developed violin method in six levels, Florian Meierott is considered one of the most important violin teachers in Germany.

After studies and master classes with Max Speermann, Rugierro Ricci, Reinhard Goebel, Ulf Hoelscher, Zakhar Bron and Wilhem Melcher, he completed his degree course with the highest distinction.

The multi award-winning violinist has performed with many well-known orchestras (“Berliner Symphoniker” – Live CD with the Brahms Violin Concerto, Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra) and internationally renowned musicians. He has premiered a large number of violin concertos and solo works dedicated to him. Florian Meierott is concertmaster of the “German Chamber Orchestra” and artistic director of many music festivals.

As a soloist he has performed in almost all the important music centers of the world.

He began to teach master classes in Germany and abroad already while still studying himself.

From 1998, he taught violin as a major subject at the “Fachakademie für Musik Würzburg” music academy.

In 2008, he founded the “Florian Meierott Stiftung” foundation to promote young musicians.

From 2008 to 2014, he taught violin and didactics at the “Hochschule für Musik” (University of Music) in Würzburg.

After completing his studies, Florian Meierott lived and taught at Erlach Castle (Bavaria), and since 2014, in “Villa Paganini” in Kitzingen.

He plays an Italian instrument, built around 1780, and a Charles Peccatte bow.
